During the coronavirus pandemic, surgeon Arthur Wijsmuller had to postpone operations more and more often due to staff shortages. He discovered untapped medical talent among migrants. The Groningen-based surgeon refused to give up and came up with a plan. This is how the 'Newcomers in their Strength' project came into being.
